Hundreds upon hundreds of carefully crafted screens and new enemies, new gamemodes, bonus small challenges to complete, improved local co-op, lots of lore and a lovely story weaved between multiple narratives are only a few of the things this DLC includes. If you’re still on the fence on whether or not you want to experience more of what Rain World had to offer after finishing the base game, I can definitely say that, in my view, it’s worth giving it a try. It is a, frankly, almost ridiculous amount of dedication, passion and care that is very visible throughout the entirety of your playtime, and it’s always enjoyable to see. As part of the original Beta tester team from back when the More Slugcats expansion was intended to be only just a fanmade mod for the game, I cannot state just how much love has been packed into this product by the developers. The expansion also includes challenging one-time scenarios, a randomizer featuring complex quests to complete, and local co-op support! For players looking test their limits in Challenge Mode or players looking for a chill experience in Safari Mode, Rain World: Downpour features something new for every player! Optional additional mechanical additions allow for a new spin on the Rain World experience – tutorialized hints, alternate routing options, a new map system, handy collectibles tracker for storyline completion, and many more.
